Ocean Village Medical Centre

Timeliness: 20 minutes past appointment time (pretty normal).One receptionist was warm and friendly, however the younger one was short and cold.Booked 2 weeks in advance with chosen doctor based on her care interests listed on their website. Found doctor quite cold and aloof. I had disclosed our Indigenous decent for purpose of child’s immunisations. I didn’t feel the doctor truly wanted to care for us. It felt forced. The nurses giving the vaccinations were much warmer but I won’t be bringing our family back to this practice. I was very casually dressed but I don’t think any of these factors should affect our experience and quality of care.I’m still searching for a kind and friendly family doctor since we moved to the area.

The doctor I see is one of the best I've found for chronic illness however the reception staff have made me reluctant to return, they cancelled my appointment without notifying me until I was already there for it and then told me that I never had one in the first place even though I had a hot doc confirmation as proof. I also needed scripts from a telehealth appointment and they wouldn't do it digitally but told me they would mail them to me, 2 weeks later no script and when I called they said they sent it 4 days after my appointment. Really unhelpful

Incredibly low service. I saw Vanessa with my child as I was worried she could have issues with her Thyroid. When I told Vanessa why I am worried she asked me what I want her to do? EXCUSE ME? I said well I dont know. You are the doctor. Anyhow bottom line is this appointment had the character of a bulk billed appointment. Quick, superficial and basically couldnt care less. We will for sure not go back to this doctor. Shame on her. This is not how you should treat patients. And to ask what a patient wants you to do is actually worrisome. I mean guess what is needed? Your expertise?

Dr. Jessica Wong is not only professional, but also very thoughtful and efficient, always thinking from patients' position. This makes her the GP trusted by our whole family of three generations. Highly recommended.

This is a great medical centre. All the doctors my family have seen are excellent. Friendly, approachable, professional, kind & knowledgeable. I’ve read other reviews saying the reception staff are not so friendly but we find the complete opposite. The reception staff are great. We do come here for the Doctors though not the receptionists but it’s a bonus that they are lovely & helpful too.

I’m very happy with all of the doctors I have seen here. All have been very professional and have a positive bedside manner.Unfortunately I have to agree with many of the other reviews here - the reception/admin can be really impolite, they don’t seem to respond to any requests and require regular follow ups.

Lovely practice. The reception staff have always been very pleasant to me. Have only seen Hammond but he is a gem of a doctor. People will travel a long way to see him! The phlebotomist that works in there is also very good and bubbly.

I have been seeing Louise Owen for the last 5 years. It honestly makes such a difference when you find a doctor who is committed to finding the best possible options for you as a patient. I feel like I am listened to, respected and cared for. When i have been unable to see Louise the other doctors at the service have been lovely and supportive.

I liked my doctor but some of the receptionists simply shouldn't be there. They are extremely rude and will even hang up on you before trying to help. There was a mistake with my prescriptions and had to fight for a week until one good receptionist (or manager, not sure) helped me.Unfortunately for me this is a reason to not come back.

I was so impressed with how great the staff members are here. The lady on reception is so welcoming and the doctor and nurse who saw me took really good care of me. Cannot recommend enough.
